BSC Overpowered by Mars Hill

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

Bluefield, VA- The Big Blues got a rare series at Bowen Field against Mars Hills. Unfortunately the local field was not so friendly to the Big Blues as they fell 17-2 and 17-0 in the double headers.

The Lions brought their offense in the series tallying 36 hits in the two games. Bluefield State's defense was not providing much help as the team committed 4 errors in game 1 and 3 errors in game 2. In game 1 Mars Hill went deep twice including a grand slam in the Top of the 7th. In game 2 the Lions were able to go yard two more times, both against Cole Blocker who started game 2.

The lone runs for Bluefield State came in game 1 off a moon shot by Kevon Moxey. Moxey is now tied for 2nd on the team with 2 home runs, 3 behind the team leader Peyton Durham.

The Big Blues have another 4 games series this weekend weather permitting. Currently the first two games will be played on Saturday in Winston-Salem. On Sunday, Bluefield State will be at home in Princeton, WV to finish the 4 game set against Winston-Salem State.
