Softball Travels To King For Midweek Contest

BLUEFIELD - The Big Blue softball team will travel to Bristol, Tennessee for a doubleheader against King University starting at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 16th.
Both games will be broadcast on The Official Digital Network of the Tornado.
 
Bluefield State goes into Wednesday afternoon's game 0-4, while King University will show up with an advantage of playing 14 games this season. Ashlee Brassart leads the Big Blue with a batting average of .750 after opening up the season this past weekend with two doubleheaders. The Big Blue have a batting advantage over the Tornado with .286.
 
King University returns only two starters from last season. The Tornado finished their short season 11-13. Meagan Puckett was second last season with a batting average of .281. Puckett sits second this season with .333. The Tornado go into Wednesday's game 8-6 with a team batting average of .276.
 
The Big Blue hopes to make a comeback Wednesday afternoon after a tough weekend against Bluefield College and Mars Hill. As they will try to make a few adjustments on the field and at the plate.
