Bluefield, WV – Bluefield State men's basketball head coach Devin Hoehn has announced the promotion of Isiah Gill to associate head coach.
"I am thankful to Coach Hoehn for this opportunity," said Isiah Gill. "I'm looking forward to our second season in the CIAA and our growth in the 2024-25 season."
Gill, who is entering his sixth year with the Big Blue, has played a vital role in the team's success while he has been here. Gill's role has consisted of team travel arrangements, scouting reports and recruiting coordinator.  Gill also served under Derrick Price, who is now the Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics.
"Coach Gill has been a tremendous asset to our program," said Devin Hoehn. "When I first got the Head Coaching job in 2021-22, Coach Gill helped with my transition to my first head coach position. Coach Gill not only has played an integral part to our system, but also cares about the success of each of our individual players. I know he will continue to do so in the years to come."
During the 2023-24 season, the Big Blue made history by securing their first CIAA tournament victory. They also defeated the defending champs, Winston-Salem State, in the 2024 CIAA tournament.
