Bluefield, WV — Head softball coach Holli Holliday continues to make an impact on the national stage. Coach Holli has been selected to serve on the coaching staff for Major League Baseball and USA Softball's summer development events. After coaching at the prestigious Breakthrough Series last summer, Holliday will be working this year's Elite Development Invitational (EDI), held June 21–26 at the Kansas City Urban Youth Academy in Missouri.
The EDI is an intensive, multi-day training camp designed for elite 18-under athletes selected from across the country through the MLB Youth Academy and Nike RBI (Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities) programs. The event features a comprehensive approach to athlete development, including high-level softball instruction, strength training, and mental performance sessions. Participants will also engage in discussions centered around college recruiting, mental health, and women in sports.
Holliday joins a distinguished coaching roster that includes former USA Softball Women's National Team athletes, professional players, and collegiate coaches from across the country. Throughout the week, the EDI coaching staff will evaluate athletes and select top performers to advance to the Breakthrough Series, where they'll compete for the Jenny Finch Foundation Scholarship.
