BLUEFIELD - The Bluefield State Soccer team (4-8-0) drops the midday match up to Roberts Wesleyan Monday at East River Soccer Complex, 1-3.

"Our inaugural season is all about competing and today we did that. Our ability to possess and move the ball today was great but on a couple of occasions we made some poor choices in the middle of the park and it cost us dearly," said Head coach
Scott Forster.
Sydney Regan gave the Redhawks their first goal at the 20-minute mark assisted by Abigail Sindoni.
Jadra Martinez answered for the Big Blue right before the half ended, scoring at the 40-minute mark.
Early in the second half the Redhawks Gabrielle Ciambella score at the 53-mark assisted by Stevielyn Diggory. The Big Blue fought back to try and tie it up but late in the half Stevielyn Doggory put one in unassisted.
Noemi Christ had 14 saves off of 17 shots on goal. The Big Blue were outshot 26-9.
"Learning and growing from this with a fast turnaround in games as we play on Wednesday. I'm excited to see us bounce back," said coach Forster.
