BLUEFIELD - The Bluefield State women's basketball team recorded their third road win against Warren Wilson Monday evening in Swannanoa, North Carolina, 96-56. The Big Blue improves to 6-10, while the Owls drop to 0-1.

Monday evening, The Big Blue dominated the Owls. The Owls kept it close in the first quarter, 18-13. In the second half the Big Blue started to pull away, going into the half, 41-26. In the second half the Big Blue continued to pull away. The Big Blue held the Owls off to capture the win. 

The Big Blue had multiple players in double figures, led by Alexus Tucker with 18 points and six assists. Tucker is four assists away from being tied at ninth in Bluefield State College school history. One point behind her was Autumn Spangler with 17 points. Followed by Londen Coleman with 15 points. Not too far behind her was Katrina Davis with 13 points. Ashlie Louden also put up 12 points last night. 

The Big Blue took advantage of the Owls mistakes, grabbing 32 points off of their 36 turnovers. The Big Blue dominated in the paint again this afternoon with 22 points. The Big Blue managed to grab the advantage in points off the bench with 44. 

The Owls had a total of 31 rebounds, 23 of those were defensive rebounds. The Owls also made six out of the 14 three-pointers.

Bluefield State will host Warren Wilson Thursday, March 4 in Ned E. Shott Gym. The Big Blue will take on the Owls at 5:30 p.m.
