Pippa Passes, KY — Bluefield State University women's soccer opened the 2026 season in an attention-grabbing fashion Friday afternoon, defeating Alice Lloyd College 11-0 on the road.
The Big Blue controlled the match from the opening whistle, taking a 5-0 lead into halftime. Iyana Campbell led the offensive attack, scoring three goals in the first half.
Campbell got the Big Blue on the board first in the 23rd minute, with Klein providing the assist. Klein added a goal of her own in the 31st minute off a Ballesteros assist, and Herrera capped off the first half scoring with a goal just before halftime.
Bluefield State continued its offensive pressure in the second half, adding six more goals. Ballesteros also scored twice in the second half, while Arianna Dimartino added a goal and recorded two assists in the victory.
The Big Blue finished the match with a commanding 21-1 advantage in shots and held a 7-0 edge in corner kicks. Goalkeeper Natasha Jaramillo recorded a shutout in her 90 minutes of action as Bluefield State limited Alice Lloyd to just one shot for the entire match.
